The people behind DOT Glasses have decades of international experience from the corporate, management consulting, entrepreneurial and non-profit sectors. But mostly, they're passionate about the DOT Glasses mission.
Joanna Safarik is an enterprising professional and educator, who brings to DOT Glasses a diverse set of skills and competences gained from her experience in politics, fundraising, progressive education, and NGOs. Her eclectic career has spanned the world, having worked across the United States, South America, Europe and most recently Africa.
Prior to starting the European leg of her career, Joanna worked in Washington, D.C. as a Political Action Committee Administrator for the Credit Union National Association where she excelled at fundraising as well as in the planning and execution of major political events. She later joined a major U.S. national political organization on Capitol Hill as a Major Donor Program Director, and was part of a successful presidential re-election campaign.
She has also collaborated with the Czech Parliamentary Institute as researcher on U.S. campaign finance law. After her relocation to Europe, Joanna focused her efforts on progressive education, and more recently (following her passion for social justice and development equality) she worked with People in Need as a Project Coordinator for their Angola mission - working both in the HQ and “on the ground”.
Joanna has a B.A. in Economics from the University of Maryland and is currently working on completing her M.B.A. studies. She resides in Prague with her family.
